The Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival, ranked among the top art festivals in the country, is almost here! Taking place April 10th through the 13th in downtown Fort Worth, the Main Street Arts Festival is a celebration of art, food, music and fun for the entire family, and admission is absolutely free! Here are five things you have to see and do during this four day event:
1. Get your coupons
If you want to enjoy the Main Street Arts Festival to the fullest - and that means enjoying its many food and drink options - you're going to need coupons. All food and drink at the festival are exchanged for coupons, which you can purchase either at the festival at one of several coupon booths, or online in their store.
2. Become a craft brew connoisseur
The Craft Beer Pavilion - located near the UT Arlington Main Stage on 9th Street - will be serving twelve national and local beers on tap to enjoy with a great view of the many musical performances on stage throughout the day. More of a wine drinker? times ten cellars will be hosting a premium seated wine tasting at the Wine Experience tent near the Flying Saucer, but be aware that reservations are required.
3. Ride your bike – or borrow one!
Parking is free for cyclists at the festival’s Bike Corral (on the corner of 7th and Houston Streets), but if you don’t have a bike, you can try out B-cycle, Fort Worth’s own bike-sharing system. There are 14 B-cycle stations located near the festival grounds.
4. Visit the art gallery
Definitely take the time to visit browse the work of the over two hundred artists featured at the festival. Whether you're looking to add to your art collection, start one from scratch, or just want to look around, the stations set up along Main Street and in Sundance Square are a must-see. Paintings and sculptures are just the beginning; jewelry, metalwork, mixed media pieces and more are all waiting for you.
5. Rock out
With three stages and over a hundred performers, there is no shortage of live music to enjoy at the arts festival. Whether your tastes lean toward rock and roll, country, blues, or even opera, Main Street has you covered. The full performance schedule is available on the official website.
